One day after speech, Corzine starts to back down
Unbelievable. Not more than 24-hours after he was sworn in as New Jersey's 54th governor (or is 52nd governor?), Corzine has retreated from his call "on public servants to join in an historic effort to 'end the toxic mix of politics, money and public business' in order to restore public trust." Today, in a meeting with New Jersey's mayors, Corzine lamented that he said "perhaps too much" yesterday when addressing New Jersey's problem with public corruption. Did the political bosses scold him after the ball last night? Or did he just change his mind and go back on another promise?
I have a sneaking suspiscion that it will be business as usual in Trenton. What a shame.
