Congratulations Camden! Number 1 for 2 years in a row!

Too bad the ranking Camden sits on top of is "most dangerous city" in the United States. Governor-elect Corzine, can we add this to your "to-do" list, please?

Did Bush Lie?

Or, put another way, did President Bush lie about the threat of Saddam Hussein in order to lead the United States into an unnecessary war?

It seems to be the question of the week so far. Check into it yourself -- just click the picture below (or Google it youself) and read. The quick answer is no, he didn't lie. He was following the same information his predecessor -- Bill Clinton -- was following in 1998 when he acted "without delay, diplomacy or warning."

Jersey Jokes

Jay Leno's remarks on the Tonight Show regarding the New Jersey governor's race (through PoliticsNJ.com)

The Republican candidate is running an ad featuring the Democratic candidate's ex-wife, and the Democratic candidate is allegedly spreading rumors that the Republican candidate had an affair with an ex-Miss New Jersey. Boy, remember the good old days in Jersey when all they had to worry about was a crooked gay governor?

New Corzine Rumor

Wow, this is getting trashy. Check out Drudge's story regarding the Corzine abortion rumor here. I heard this rumor about 6 weeks ago, but nothing since. Until today.

Please note, this rumor is being investigated by the liberal press . . . don't blame the GOP for the mudslinging on this one.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned

The ex-Mrs. Corzine broke her silence yesterday because Senator Corzine "is giving an inaccurate portrayal of himself in his campaign for governor." She thinks that a Governor Corzine would let down the people of New Jersey like he let down her and his family. She also disclosed something that most people in New Jersey already knew -- Corzine made political deals with the state's Democratic bosses in order to get elected.

The New York Times was first to print it. Then it made it online. It continued today with an article in the Asbury Park Press. Now its hitting the airwaves.

I believe the context is important -- this is an ex-wife making a statement about her ex-husband who broke up their marriage by, among other things, having an affair. She may have an axe to grind. But she spent 33 years with this man, and was around when he decided to make all these back room deals to win his Senate seat, something that he has been accused of by other more impartial people. Thus, I think her comments deserve some credit.

Corzine's ex-wife: "He'll probably let New Jersey down, too"

Check out Enlighten-New Jersey's discussion of Jon Corzine's ex-wife's comments regarding Corzine, his political ambition and his drive to get what he wants. Also check out Enlighten's comments and quotes about Corzine's "Bold Ambitions and Rough Edges" here and here. None of this paints a very nice picture (and let's not forget that he was fired from the job he held at Goldman Sachs). Come on, Doug!

How long until you hear "Rumsfeld caused bird flu"??

I'm willing to take bets on how long before some crazy left wing, anti-Bush, anti-Rumsfeld person makes a claim that bird flu is being spread intentionally so that Rumsfeld can make more money. Come on, you know someone is going to float that, or some similar, bird-brained theory.

Corzine: I am not a crook!

Jon Corzine as quoted in the Star-Ledger on October 30, 2005:

I'm not corrupt. The idea that it's bribery when I have every goddamn union endorsement in the state. It's not like any of these people think I'm a schmuck.
Well, we all know how Corzine got the endorsement of the state's largest public employee union -- the Communications Workers of America Local 1034 -- it was either the $470,000 in cash or the $125,000 Cartier necklace Senator Jon gave to his girlfriend, and union president, Carla Katz.

He's not corrupt though. He said so.

New Polls

A new Fairleigh Dickinson University poll has Jon Corzine leading Doug Forrester 44% to 40%. The last FDU poll had the race at 48%-40% in favor of Corzine.

A New Stockton College/Zogby Poll has Jon Corzine leading Doug Forrester 47% to 40%. This is the same margin as a Stockton/Zogby Poll taken 10-days earlier which had Corzine ahead of Forrester 45% to 38%.

Quinnipiac University will be releasing a new poll on the New Jersey governor's race on Wednesday morning. The last poll had Corzine leading Forrester 50% to 43% (note that the Quinnipiac poll aslo said that by a 2-1 margin, New Jersey voters think that Democrats are more corrupt).
